Langhe represent an historical heritage of absolute value, which today we risk to lose. However we are ready to do our part: some rare bottles of Barolo Vigna La Villa, Vigna La Rosa, Vigna La Delizia and Barolo Riserva are ready to be brought back to light after more than half a century. Wines that represent the true narration of a terroir since 1961, rediscovering the value of time.
In the heart of UNESCO World Heritage site of Langhe, ever since 1858, the year of our foundation by the then King of Italy Vittorio Emanuele II, the great wines of the territory have been continuing representing one of the most fascinating lands in the world, enhancing its unique characteristics. Rare vintage wines, keepers of a historical memory capable of meeting the challenges of the present, which we are now ready to unveil to the world. For over 60 years, fine Barolo wines from the company’s MGAs have taken their time to naturally age in our cellar, and today they are the bearers of a new ethic, gazing towards to the future.
How to rediscover the value of time?
“Few things in the world can give us back this concept, and wine is one of them. Time cannot be bought, time passes, time changes, the climate changes, and this tells us that we must change too. We have to be more careful, more precise and give more value to what surrounds us. For over sixty years we have been collecting great vintages of different vines in our cellar, thinking that one day the right moment would have come, when these bottles would have had something to say not only for their quality, but also for the ethical emblem they symbolise. And today our ethic tell us that we need to slow down, be less shallow and appreciate time. With these exact pictures of the last 62 years, we hope that our historical reserves will help us to reflect and enjoy.”

In the heart of the Paiagallo MGA is located one of our most historic vineyards, named after the royal farmstead at the foot of Vigna La Villa, located in Barolo on a tongue of land rich in silt, sand and clay. A MGA that stands out for its harmoniously rounded shapes and excellent eastern exposure. Vigna La Villa covers 3.164 hectares within Paiagallo and produces a fruity, elegant Barolo with a rich palate and sweet tannin. A great Barolo, available in vintages ranging from 1982 to 2020 (1982, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2007, 2019 and 2020).

Within the MGA Fontanafredda lies the oldest and most representative vineyard, with an extension of 6.9447 hectares, in continuous production for 70 years. It takes its name from Bella Rosina, and it is no coincidence that this tongue of earth rich in sand, limestone and blue marl, typical of Serralunga d’Alba terroir, reminding of the floral perfumes of the rose. A deep, long and fine Barolo, almost velvety, which express a sensation of balance between the fruity aromas and the fresh acidity. Available vintages range from 1974 to 2020 (1974,1982, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2011, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2020).

In the MGA Lazzarito stands one of our most important vineyards: Vigna La Delizia covers 0.5646 hectares and stands on the top of a tongue of marly-calcareous-clayey, skeleton-rich soil, thus enjoying the best exposure of the entire appellation. It is a tasty Barolo with spicy and minty aromas, deep verticality and tannin that requires time to express itself at its best. The available vintages range from 1982 to 2020 (1982, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2019 and 2020).

Produced only in certain vintages, only grapes from the best exposed owned-vineyards, just produced in specifically selected vintages, according to tradition. The Barolo DOCG Riserva is warm, soft, with sweet, velvety tannins paring well with a fresh acid note that helps provide a long final persistence. A wine capable of standing the test of time, available in vintages ranging from 1961 to 2017 (1961, 1967, 1974, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2004, 2010, 2013, 2015, 2016, 2017).
